Held from 3–6 September 2026 at the Art of Living International Center, Bengaluru, bringing thousands together across four days of art, music, food, and spiritual rejuvenation.
What is Bihar Mahotsav?
Bihar Mahotsav is an independent cultural celebration conceptualized to showcase the multifaceted beauty, history, arts, and culinary genius of Bihar to the world. Organised by the Bihar Mahotsav Organising Committee in collaboration with regional cultural groups and community volunteers, the festival bridges ancient roots with contemporary aspirations.
Bihar has historically been the fountainhead of spiritual enlightenment, mathematical philosophy, statecraft, and timeless literature. Bihar Mahotsav creates an experiential space where visitors can immerse themselves in live artisan workshops, musical traditions such as Bidesia and Kajari, folk dances like Chhau and Jhijhiya, and authentic gastronomic journeys.
The 2026 edition took place in Bengaluru at the serene campus of the Art of Living International Center, providing an open, peaceful sanctuary where people of all ages and backgrounds gathered to experience Bihar’s cultural warmth.

Providing a prominent national stage for master artisans practicing Madhubani (Mithila) painting, Tikuli gold leaf work, golden Sikki grass craft, Sujuni embroidery, and Bhagalpuri handloom weaving.
Showcasing Authentic Culinary Traditions
Honoring Bihar's culinary art—from slow-baked Litti Chokha with pure desi ghee and roasted gram Sattu to GI-tagged Silao Khaja and festive delicacies cooked with age-old authentic recipes.
Strengthening Community & Cultural Bridges
Uniting the vibrant Bihari diaspora in Bengaluru and Karnataka with local communities, fostering inter-state harmony, youth connection, and cultural exchange.
