Ananya Choudhary

Madhubani, Bihar•Bengaluru

“Growing up in Madhubani, every wall during Chhath Puja turned into a canvas of color. My grandmother taught me how to extract yellow dye from marigold petals and deep green from bean leaves. Moving to Whitefield in Bengaluru for my tech job, I brought those pigments with me. Whenever I feel homesick, I paint a fish motif on handmade paper. Bihar Mahotsav bringing our heritage right here to the Art of Living Ashram feels like bringing home to my doorstep.”

Cherished Memory:Eating hot Litti fresh off cow-dung coal embers in my village during winter break.

Message: Bihar is not just history in textbooks; it is a living, breathing pulse of art, warmth, and resilience.

Dr. Alok Nath Shahi

Bhojpur, Bihar•Mysuru

“My grandfather used to tell stories of Babu Veer Kunwar Singh's valor. People often don't realise how deeply Bihar has shaped India's identity—from Buddha's enlightenment to Mahatma Gandhi's first Satyagraha in Champaran. I want my children raised in Karnataka to feel proud of their roots when they speak Bhojpuri or eat Sattu.”

Cherished Memory:Late evening adda at Ara railway station over kulhad tea and hot Arrah Khurma.

Message: No matter how far a Bihari travels, our roots keep us grounded and our culture gives us strength.

Ritu Raj Verma

Nalanda, Bihar•Bengaluru

“As a software engineer at a startup in Koramangala, I see innovation every day. But whenever I visit the ruins of Nalanda, I realize that 1,500 years ago, scholars from across Asia came to my hometown to learn philosophy, astronomy, and mathematics. That heritage gives me immense confidence as an entrepreneur.”

Cherished Memory:Cycling through the ruins of Nalanda Mahavihara at sunrise with my father.

Message: Bihar was the world's knowledge capital. Today's Bihar is rebuilding that legacy.

Siddharth Gautam

Gaya, Bihar•Hyderabad

“Standing under the Bodhi Tree in Gaya at dawn, hearing monks chant in five languages simultaneously, you understand what peace truly means. Bihar has given the world non-violence, enlightenment, and democracy. Celebrating Bihar Mahotsav in Bengaluru will show people the true soul of our state.”

Cherished Memory:Smell of roasted sesame and jaggery in Gaya market during Makar Sankranti.

Message: Visit Bihar with an open heart, and it will touch your soul forever.
